We offer our Mediation services on either an hourly or fixed rate basis - your preference. If booking directly through LADR, please contact your preferred mediator to inquire about their fee schedule and to discuss which approach will work best for your particular Mediation. LADR does not charge set-up fees or domestic travel costs and there is no charge for post-mediation session telephonic follow-up calls.

If booking through NAM, fees and payment arrangements will be in accord with NAM’s policies and discussed with NAM at time of booking.

Unless other arrangements are made, mediation fees are divided equally between the number of parties.

Rates vary by Arbitrator. If booking directly through LADR, please contact Ms. Lawler to discuss specifics of the retention and to agree on scope, time parameters for briefing and conclusion, retainer and payment provisions. A signed engagement agreement must be signed, and a retainer paid, before any services can be rendered. If booking through NAM, fees and payment arrangements will be discussed with NAM at time of booking.

We will be pleased to work with your company to design an appropriate program to handle mediations for specific/specialty types of claims or litigation and/or at international locations.  In the spirit of helping to make the judicial system more available to all, we are pleased to handle mediations for “smaller cases”, i.e. valued at $50,000 or less, for reduced fees. We also can arrange for online, videoconference or telephonic mediation sessions. Please contact Ms. Lawler to discuss your needs and interests.

Other Mediation Information

The role of the Mediator is one of a Neutral.   The Neutral does not and can not provide legal advice to any party or advocate for any party. In particular, a Neutral is not an attorney for, and does not represent, any party to a mediation or arbitration.

We are available to mediate worldwide.

Mediation Briefs should be emailed to the Mediator no later than seven (7) days before the scheduled mediation date.   They may be exchanged or kept confidential as agreed by the parties.

It is best if all parties and insurance representatives appear in person.  If someone will not be attending in person, please advise the Mediator in advance to discuss contact logistics, such as time zone differences.  Video-conferencing can be arranged.

All statements and writings during the mediation process are privileged and confidential, as per California and Federal statutes re mediation privilege.

In an effort to continually improve our services, a post-mediation survey will be emailed to each participating attorney for anonymous voluntary response.

Your feedback is most welcomed and appreciated. If you have any suggestions, comments or complaints, please advise Ms. Lawler. If you believe that there has been any violation of the Association of Attorney-Mediators’ Ethical Guidelines for Mediators, please click here for information on the AAM grievance procedure.
